Speed Skate League ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Speed Skate League mobile app and website at speedskateleague.com. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

When you create an account and use the app, we collect:

• Name — your display name, shown on your profile and community posts
• Email address — used to create and authenticate your account
• User ID — a unique identifier assigned to your account
• Device ID — your device's push notification token, used to send you alerts
• Photos and videos — images you choose to upload to community posts
• User content — posts and replies you submit to the Skater community feed

2. How We Use Your Information

All data we collect is used solely to operate and improve the app:

• Authenticate you and maintain your account
• Display your profile, posts, and activity within the app
• Send push notifications for announcements and league updates
• Enable community features such as the Skater feed, follows, and likes
• Provide customer support when you contact us

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than app functionality.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Your data is processed by the following service providers solely to operate the app:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (supabase.com)
• Render — cloud hosting for our backend server (render.com)
• Apple — push notification delivery via APNS

Each provider has their own privacy policy and processes data only as necessary to provide their services.

4. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and personal data at any time — in the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by visiting speedskateleague.com/delete-account. You can also email Lbird@speedskatemeet.com and we will process your request within 30 days.

5. Children's Privacy

The Speed Skate League app is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

6. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption). Account authentication is handled by Supabase, which uses industry-standard security practices. We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no system is completely secure.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, email us at Lbird@speedskatemeet.com.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
